Two major British-based horseracing rights holders will be showcasing their businesses together at one of the world’s largest sports conventions. Racecourse Media Group (RMG) and Henry Birtles Associates (HBA) will be sharing a stand at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco for Sportel 2016, running from 23rd October to 27th October.
RMG and HBA make up the only exhibiting parties covering solely the sport of horse racing at Sportel. An event which attracts the likes of FIFA, ESPN, NFL and PGA to exhibit.
RMG, the parent company of Racing UK, currently possess the rights to some of the greatest races staged in the UK, including; the Derby, the Grand National, the 1,000 and 2,000 Guineas, the Ebor, the Eclipse and many more. RMG also manage the international distribution of Meydan’s racing for the 2016-17 season, which includes the Dubai World Cup Carnival and the $30m Dubai World Cup card itself – the richest day’s racing in the global calendar.
From 2017, RMG will be bringing the international distribution of their circa 750 live race meetings in-house, and their first exhibition opportunity at Sportel provides the perfect platform to promote this worldwide.
HBA are an established distributor of horse racing rights to the sports television industry worldwide. With rights to prestigious racing events across the globe, such as the Emirates Melbourne Cup, the Breeders’ Cup and the brand new Pegasus World Cup Invitational, HBA have built a global client base for which they produce programming for and provide racing rights to.
RMG Director of Broadcast, Adam Binns, said: “RMG and HBA manage the international distribution of many of the world’s top horseraces, so it makes perfect sense to team up with HBA and showcase the cream of global racing. We are very much looking forward to our first year of exhibiting at Sportel.”
HBA Managing Director, Henry Birtles, commented “It’s fantastic to be sharing our stand this year with a fellow UK-based racing company, and it will be a brilliant opportunity to educate the global sports industry on horse racing, and the business we do internationally out of the UK. Sportel is always a marvelous event and offers us an unparalleled opportunity to promote the sport of horse racing to the major sports networks and contacts around the world.”
